Field Notes: Price Observations in the E-Catalogue

Because the e-catalogue lists prices openly, it is a natural place to look for anomalies. In its notes, IPW compares the listed price of identical or near-identical items across providers and time, occasionally finding differences that ordinary market variation does not easily explain. As with tenders, IPW is careful to frame these as questions rather than conclusions — a starting point for asking how a catalogue price was set and reviewed.
